Kate what are your favorite...
Q: Bands/Artists?
A: At the moment - Rational Academy, Turnpike, Sleater-Kinney,
Electrelane, Tegan and Sara, Paper and the Plane, Cursive,
Macromantics, Broken Social Scene, The Bites, Dear Nora, Mirah, The
Thermals, Antony and the Johnsons, Bright Eyes, Death Cab for Cutie,
Eraserrata, LeTigre, The Organ, Sonic Youth, The Decemberists...I
guess this is a list of what I have been listenning to lately.
Q: Movies?
A: JAWS and Duel...yes both by spielberg but you can't deny
that either are amazing! Duel is the best movie to watch before you go
on tour. It's highly educational and makes you completely suspicious of
every truck on the road. Practice safe driving. Watch Duel. I love Kubrick's
classic version of the Shining. It looks amazing and it is as scary as
me in my deb dress. Me, you and everyone else we know - An amazing film.
Miranda July...say no more. The absolute favourites are Annie Hall and
Manhattan. Woody Allen is just perfect. I think I relate to him way too
much. In fact sometimes I feel like Woody Allen. Oh and Born in Flames!
Q: Books?
A: Okay so it's hard to write a list of favourite books...because
I feel all this pressure that it has to be definitive...but it's not.
I guess the following is a list of books I enjoyed to the point that I
didn't want it to end. And when it did end I felt sad for the book and
missed it...like we had broken up...okay... The Amazing Adventures of
Kavalier and Clay, Hotel New Hampshire, Until I find you, Post Office,
The Corrections, Middlesex, I read a lot of McSweeny's but my subscription
just ran out.... The Meaning of Everything, The Shipping News, Jimmy Corrigan
- The Smartest Kid on Earth, THe Shining and of course - Without Feathers,
Getting Even and Side Effects all by Woody Allen. You must read all with
a cup of tea.
